Transit time is the period needed to move goods from the place of dispatch to the place of destination. It includes the time of the carriage itself, as well as any stops, transhipments and formalities involved in carrying out the transport.
The length of transit time is particularly important in international transport, where it is affected by, among other things, distance, the chosen means of transport and the applicable procedures.
Travel time can also be affected by infrastructure solutions used in individual countries, such as the HGS electronic toll collection system in Turkey.
