LTL (Less Than Truck Load) is a form of transport in which the loading space of a single vehicle is shared between shipments from several shippers. This means that one customer’s load does not occupy the entire vehicle, and transport is carried out as a shared shipment.
LTL is the basis of groupage transport and is the opposite of FTL, i.e. full-truckload transport. This solution reduces transport costs, although it usually involves a longer transit time due to the consolidation and distribution of loads.
